The Asia Cup 2023 is set to begin from August 31 to September 17, 2023. The 2023 Edition of the tournament will have two groups. From each group, two teams will qualify for the Super Four stage. In the Super Four stage, the top two teams will play against each other in the final Match.

Asia Cup 2023 Format

The Asia Cup follows a rotational pattern, switching between the T20I (20 overs) and ODI (50 overs) formats. For the Asia Cup 2023, the format will be a 50-over match. The six qualified teams will compete in both group stage and knockout matches, following a round-robin format. The top two teams emerging from the Super 4 round will battle it out in the final match, vying for the prestigious title.

Asia Cup 2023 Venue

The 2023 edition of the Asia Cup will be jointly hosted by Pakistan and Sri Lanka. The initial phase of the tournament, consisting of the first four group matches, will be held in Pakistan. However, due to security concerns, India will not be participating in matches held in Pakistan, as stated by Jay Shah, the Chairperson of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) last year. Instead, Sri Lanka will serve as the neutral venue for India’s matches, and the remaining matches of the tournament. Four matches will be held in Pakistan and the remaining nine matches will be held in Sri Lanka

The 2022 Asia Cup’s top four teams, namely Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, India, and Bangladesh, earned automatic qualification for the 2023 Asia Cup, along with the host nation Pakistan.
